If I posted a picture...

of myself right now, you'd see me curled up on my side, screeching and wheezing when I cough. Yup, that's me. I have coughed so much that my lower back is in spasm and has very little strength. My shoulders and other back muscles are sore and tender.

The Lord is forcing me to pay attention to myself, obviously I wasn't doing it well enough on my own. I'm a slow learner at somethings...

Priorities ??

I am a HUGE proponent of helping out those in need. Believe me, you’ve seen my posts about helping those in Haiti, it hurts to the core seeing the devastation in a Country that has so little. They do need our help and I see this being a HUGE new beginning for a Country that has gone without for all time.

All that said, i have to wonder, why is it that people are willing to come forward to help Haiti and not ourselves? The money being donated to the Haiti Relief cause is ASTRONIMICAL. Why can’t people open their checkbooks and make the same donations to their local charities and schools when needed?

Discuss please …

How am I ...

You ask a lot.

I'm told, tell the truth.

Yet do you really want to know??

do you want emotional answers?

do you want financial answers?

or are you just asking 'cause you "think you should"?

Happy Friday

I should also say: Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Year and all that jazz, because I know I've been missing for quite some time.

So many things have happened in the past 6 weeks that I have found myself overwhelmed brain dead and unable to write. Of course, the truth is that writing probably would have helped me process through much of it but I have been too overwhelmed brain dead to actually sit and write a coherent thought and you would not have understood a word I said wrote.

So here we are, at the end of the first week of 2010. It's not much different than 2009 to me, still waking the kid up for school daily, still dealing w/ a crazy dog (if he destroys the kids football I'll kill him), still the same ol' House of Chaos.

I'm working on several posts to bring you up to date on the happenings here, 'cause I know you want to hear about them ... so be patient, I'll get them together over the next week and be back to regular blogging soon.

Controversy is brewing locally…

I would LOVE to have a discussion on this, how do you feel about death row inmates being organ donors? Please let me know in the comments.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- Death Row inmate Christian Longo has launched a Web site to campaign to become an organ donor.
A Corrections Department spokeswoman, Jennifer Black, says it considers organ donations on a case-by-case basis. One case was a bone marrow transplant for a prisoner's relative.Black told The Statesman Journal officials don't want prisoners selling their organs.
Longo is facing the death penalty for killing his wife and three children.

Absent

I have been noticeably absent. I'm fighting a random fever again. Yes I'm worried about it, no I haven't been to a doctor, I have no money (even if it's $10) I just can't afford it right now. As it is I still have thousands in medical bills needing to be paid off.

So I was wondering ... if anyone is still here ... why do you come to my blog? what would you like to know about me? Do you blog and if so why?

That should keep us busy for awhile...

This is how I started my Sunday morning ...

Took my roommate to meet his ride.
Fixed a computer on the way home at a friends house.
Stopped at Starbucks Drive-Thru to get Chai for my King and I ... then this happened ...

Yes. I was the "crazy lady" up to my calves in water outside the Drive-Thru Starbucks in Tualatin this morning clearing out the storm drain that caused a puddle deep enough to flood cars. I was wet, cold, and amazed at how many people in 30 min stopped to LOOK at me, and yet only one man offered a Thank You and help. One man had his window down and I laughed and said "You're Welcome" ... he quickly sped off. The Starbucks Staff thanked me with a free drink. It was a definite study in how people are so caught up in themselves these days. For me, it was a random act of kindness and it changed my mood in a big way!

Loose ends ...

That's what this week has been ... lots of loose ends that I have tied up ... so here goes:

  • Trevor is still missing.
  • Cale is about to give birth ... she happens to be Trevor's older sister, can you IMAGINE the conflicted emotions their mom is dealing with this week?
  • I am officially a Consultant with Scentsy, Inc. now ~ the Company sells wickless candles that are simply fantastic! You can shop online here ... https://marissaphillips.scentsy.us/Home
  • I met with David's teachers, Counselor and Principal yesterday morning to discuss "where he's been and where I want him to go" stuff ... new school, teachers that don't know that he chews his own fingernails down to nothing and that's a sign of high anxiety ~ you know, those kinds of details ...
  • I rejoiced on Wednesday when our Social Security was deposited, it meant I could buy some Honey Nut Cheerios for David to eat for breakfast ... and replenish the milk, and eggs, and pay the electric bill etc ... yeah, those kinds of details
  • I thoroughly cleaned and organized the main floor of the house. NO small feat I might add. This place was bad, I admit it, I love the way it feels in here now. Do you want to buy an entertainment center? No .. Seriously, I need to sell it... yes, I do.
  • Did I mention that my King and I went to see the Oregon Symphony Orchestra Saturday night? No? I didn't ?? Well I'll have to get that written this weekend ... and you'll get the King's review of it also .. yes you will.
So there it is ... a busy week, I'm tired, but feel very accomplished, oh ... and I think I'm allergic to Sulfates so I'm making some major changes here, I started w/ a new Sulfate Free Toothpaste today that costs thousands of dollars per tube (not really but it IS an expensive switch) and I'm amazed, my mouth doesn't have the tingly feeling I've grown used to ... hmmmm .... I think that's a good thing.

Cleaning house ...

I refuse to  can't take pictures because my camera died and I haven't been able to replace it yet. Take it from me, the house was a mess on Friday. Not dirty, but a mess. Stuff all over the place, couldn't walk through some areas it was so bad.

I have NOT seen a couple shows on Hoarders and I was not shocked to see how in some ways, my place resembled what I was seeing on TV. I am NOT a Hoarder, we have 3 households combined into one here, space is incredibly tight and we have 2 kids that are NOT good at picking up after themselves and 3 adults that have learned from the kids ... yeah, that's it! Damn kids teaching up bad habits!!

So on Saturday it began, I started w/ the Toy Area, it has built in storage and bench seats and it is now CLEAN! Then on to the Kitchen and Dining Area. Tomorrow it's the rest of the Living Room, the hall table (which is going away so it doesn't become a dumping ground again) and then the Office Area (which is in the Dining Area). Wednesday I will do final dusting, sweeping and vacuuming. Wednesday Night I have friends coming over ... ahhhh relaxation!

Thursday I will threaten to kill anyone that leaves a mess; seriously ~ I will ... watch me!!

The Perfect Lady …

I read about Mr. AssHat today and was reminded of the following:

This situation happened about 3 weeks after Mark died.

I was shopping at our local Haggen and I had David and a friend of his with me. It was quiet in the store, around 8pm at night, and honestly I was pretty tired, run down. I let them run around getting what they wanted from the store and bring it back to me on their own, they were having fun, they weren’t bothering anyone, I could hear them running around and just didn’t care.

As I was looking at meats, the boys came running up to me and I probably said “No that’s too much” to a huge bag of candy or a box of donuts and sent them back to find something else, when Mrs. Perfect Lady came by me. You know the one …

Nails like this:

The purse like this:

Wearing a skirt like this:

Her hair and heels matched the outfit … absolutely perfect … click click click … I heard her approach me, I was probably in sweats with a ball cap holding my hair in place. I’m sure I didn’t look perfect, I’m positive my make up wasn’t done at all, and honestly I didn’t care.

Like I said, I probably was tired and exasperated as I sent the boys on a quest to find something more appropriate for two 8 year olds and sounded it, and out of her mouth came “ That’s why I leave my kids at home with my husband” …

Before I could check myself, I opened my mouth and out came this response, “Well I can’t, mine died 3 weeks ago” and I smiled.

Mrs. Perfect Lady had the most complete stunned look on her face, and she quickly grabbed her cart and Click Clicked away … I didn’t see her again. It was simply Perfect. I wonder what she said to Mr. Perfect when she got home, or if she even admitted to anyone what a Bitch she was. Perhaps she’ll think twice in the future? I giggled then, and I still giggle now.

The Boob Tube

I admit it, I'm a reality TV Junkie, I have my DVR programmed and if I don't watch them all when they air, I catch up during the day.

Tonight the Season Premier of The Amazing Race was aired; the premise of this show is that there are 11 teams of two, they may be friends, partners, teammates; and they have a series of tasks to do as they travel around the world. Each week a Team is eliminated unless they have a non-elimination leg of the race.

I like the show because of the different places they go through, the tasks that they have to do, I love watching how the teams interact with each other, there are lessons to be learned all over.

In tonights episode the Teams ended up in Vietnam, and as the last team of Garrett and Jessica came to the Check In Blanket, they were informed that they were Team 11 and Eliminated. Garrett was visibly angered at this and began to act out. I then witnessed something I've NEVER seen in all the years I've watched this show. The host, Phil Koeghan asked Jessica if he gets angry like this a lot?As she answered "yes" he said "Don't live with him" WOW! It's right here, go see for yourself! He's obviously seen a LOT of people pass through that blanket, and I'm sure has gained much insight into people, relationships and behavior. How TELLING is this though? Unbelievable. I can't wait to see how/if this gets press and if there is any follow-up to it in the future.

I'm here ... really...

just spent a lot of time doing behind the scenes work here; therefore I have nothing to write about because it would be absolutely boring to explain in detail what happened. Just know that I thought I lost stuff here, and I found a way (through a wonderful person in the support forums) that helped me get the blog moved to the right place without you even knowing that it was being moved.

TA DA!!!

Here we are!!

Chat at ya later....
