If I Could Write a Book...

I have so many mixed feelings starting to build up as I head into the 1 year anniversary of Marks sudden death. I linked the main thread for those that wish to go back...I still read through and am amazed at the support and prayers I received here and I can't thank each of you enough.

It's been a tough year, it's been an exciting year. Last night we had the Commissioning Service for the Youth for this, the 30th Anniversary Tour. They are going to be in San Francisco starting Friday night. Their itinerary will be posted here if you are in the area and wish to see/hear them. I was at the service last night, they sound GREAT and are fired up for the trip...yet there is a sadness that Mark won't be there physically, I fell apart, some of the kids fell apart, some of the leaders fell apart...but we're all in it together and will get through this together.

In a year, my faith has deepened more than I realized it could. The Lord has opened my eyes and heart to what it truly means to walk by faith alone. I have learned who my true friends & family are and that they are here for me through thick and thin.

Please keep myself, David, our family and friends in your prayers as the 21st draws closer...the Youth return on the 25th, it will be a bittersweet homecoming once again, but I know there will be healing in the process.

Blessings to each of you...hug your families and let each one know how much they mean to you, for in an instant, it can all change...

I, too, remember last year quite vividly. I remember having to stay in Grandpa's basement for an extended amount of time to dry my tears out, since it sounds corny to anyone other than us and our immediate families the bonds that we all have for each other.

Thank you everyone...I've posted on my myspace blog some thoughts... David has asked that we bury Marks ashes, so that will happen later this summer. I'll keep you posted.

I know I don't really know you, but I have to say I just finished reading the original thread (I had to walk away several times) along with the links. I don't know how I missed all of this last year. I am so upset with myself for that and apologize for not being part of the support chain last year.

My heart goes out to you, David and your family & friends. I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of pain you have endured and with the Anniversary approaching, I can only think the pain thickens. For this and more I am truly deeply sorry for your loss.

After reading the stories I feel as if I knew Mark. While we know I haven't, what I mean is my heart has been touched by learning what a wonderful man he was. What a wonderful husband and father he was. Mark will be carried in the hearts by all who have known him forever. He will live through David and experience the world through his son's eyes.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

As I sit here with tears streaming down my face, and tightness in my throat, I am warmed by the loving "family" that stems from this community; BoB!
