questioning my sanity | $$ stuff ~ a HUGE Praise! ~Just got an email from Marks mom, she's decided to release the Life Insurance $ to me ~Enough $$ has been donated between the Church and Marks estranged Uncle to put a new roof on the house, I will deliver the deposit to the contractor tomorrow ~I paid off 1 credit card last week ~A friend who is a Mortgage Broker is going to push through a home equity loan or line of credit for me so I can pay off all the remaining cards (not a TON of $$ but 1 consolidated payment is better than lots of little ones now) and get the rest of the needed work done on my kitchen to "finish" the house, he's waiving all his personal fees/commission and only charging the Companies costs on it that they require... I finally feel like I have some breathing space...SS should start in a couple of weeks... |

questioning my sanity | According to the Will, it's mine, however Mark neglected to change the beneficiaries on the policy, they were still listed as his mom and pre-deceased father. My MIL was sure that the Lord had a reason for this happening and that he had a plan for that $$, that it should be kept in her Trust not in my hands... This is what she sent today Quote:
I'm not sure now where our relationship will lie, I know that my SIL is "done" with her...this was the last straw... | |

Registered User | Marissa, I think of you often and am glad to hear things are moving along well for you. Maybe it WAS God's plan for your MIL to "get" the insurance money... That way you you had to have the conversation with her to pray about what to do with it, and she did... HE needed that to open her heart to other things.. Like how important YOU and your son really are to her...especially now... I wish you and your family lots of LOVE. Mary |

Right now it is the last thing you need to deal with. Also, let this be a reminder to you and everyone else reading this post how important life insurance is, especially if you have kid(s). I personally don't own a home or have children... but I still make sure mine and Leighton's life insurance is up to date. If something ever happens to Leighton it is the only way I would be able to fly his body home to be buried in Wales. Now... to work on getting those wills done. |

Don't touch my remote!! | Oh my gosh, I'm sorry that you had been going thru this! PRAISE THE LORD that she has released the money to you. I'm sure it was an oversite on Mark's part and he would have wanted his wife & child to be taken care of. |

Registered User | Well glad to hear that everything is working out. I'm sorry if I was nosey, but I just figured (see I didn't assume!! LOL) that the money would go to you since you are his spouse. That's one thing about being military..all of your ducks gotta be in a row every year!!!! All of that stuff gets checked yearly, so there's never any question. A |
